industrial building on the 1 henry adams site, there would be two mixed use and residential use alt the 1 henry adams site, they would be 68 feet tall, the eastern most portion would be a partial fulfillment of the inclusionary housing requirements. up to 150 units of affordable housing would be constructed on that portion of the 801 brannan site, there are three project variance proposed, variant 1 would include new construction of two mixed use and retail building on the 801 brannan site which variance 3 would also include two buildings on the 801 brannan site, but variance 1 and 2 would not change development on the 1 henry adams site from what is proposed on the project but would not include land dedication to the city. total development would include 1 million 187 thousand 943 gross square feet with up to 824 residential units, approximately 54 thousand 600 retail space and 866 parking spaces, since publication of the draft eir, variance three is the proposed project, a copy of the draft eir certification motion is before you, the public hearing on the draft eir was held on july 28,
>> it's so great to see a full house like this. it means the world to us and to the whole cause of anti-trafficking. we are waiting for mayor lee. my name is nancy goldberg, cochair of the seven cisco collaborative against human trafficking. i wanted to introduce my past chair, and my new cochair. when i tell people of my involvement their shock to hear that san francisco is in major definition of human trafficking. they think it is people from other parts of the world. there are also so many right here, from our own bay area communities. in the city that is out of human trafficking we are also committed to being an agent of change. i want to give you a brief history of sf cat, san francisco collaborative against human trafficking. in response to what we saw is a growing problem, four organizations formed up in 2008, the jewish coalition against human trafficking; national council of jewish women, jewish reel fund, -- we then realize would needed a wider coalition in order to be more effective we reached out to a large variety of the government sectors. in february 200

in the future than we expected to have. one of the key tools that we used during this outreach was a budget tzar game, where participants could create their own long-range plan. got a great response. these are the mechanisms that we used to get the word out about the budget game and about the transportation plan update in general. we had discussions about priorities, investment priorities, trade-offs, revenues, and where we have shortfalls in other venues besides the online budget games. we went to community events in every district. we went to over 18 community groups and boards and commissions and had this conversation. it wasn't just the budget game. that we used to get this input. the budget game turned out to be very popular though; we had over 800 submittals. also submittals in spanish and chinese as well. the premise of this game was a participant would go to the site and would have a gauge a counter that would show the amount of transportation revenue that we expect to have through 2040. the participant would make choices about how to invest that revenue

[applause] >> so we're really happy that you're giving us time to talk about mentoring for success, quite a movement that is happening right now in mentoring and we appreciate the recognition of national mentoring month. we did give you materials to keep to the time limit and it does have some snapshot of some information with pretty pictures and graphs and stuff so you should check it out, and just so we're all on the same page. the formal definition of mentoring is a structured and purposeful relationship between a caring adult and a young person so that's what we're talking about here and we know one thing is if students don't feel connected it's harder for them to succeed and we know that caring adults build assets for our youth. you simply can't succeed if you're not connected. it's human nature. that's why mentoring for success is fostering those relationships in our district. no two relationships look the same so we have a couple of mentors here and a student that will share about their experience in a bit so yeah. >> under the umbrella of student community s
taken. i think that hain of us might agree that we want to see more people bicycle ling whether to mute commuting to work or family outings as well and i have i should mention that i have had two bicycles stolen from my garage in my building over the past couple of years and also in inner richmond as well and we want to look at city wide data on the issues and bike thefts are on the rise at about 3,000 per year in san francisco and $3 million worth of bicycles are pistollen each rather year and we might see that income as people choose bicycling as a more viable means of transportation given the oil crisis. and i also want for stronger bicycling and other mobile means of transportation, we may see that thefting become on the rise and one of the greatest -- are according to the san francisco bicycle coalition. i i wanted to whether as add that there have been some -- including san franciscotion police department apprehension of a thief that took one 14 bicycles last july and a successful sting and the bicycle coalition have held numerous workshops to educate riders on how to prevent bik

at night than at 5 p.m. >>: item a4 2012.0822 1865 post street, request for conditional use authorization. >>: my name is christina moreno planning department staff. the item is a request for a conditional use authorization at the property on one eight six five post street. approximately 5000 square feet. the project would have live amplified music. the project sponsor was granted a limited live performance llp from their tenant commission on july 25th. it allows for a live performance in an establishment whose primary use is not live music. additional conditions were added to the llp that limited amplified levels and sound system operation. in the august 16 hearing the planning commission continued the case to september 13 to allow the property to address concerns. from december 6 to feb. 7 the event was continued. sound inspection was conducted on oct. 18 by the inspector from the entertainment commission. some test indicating that a bona fide sound at 78 decibels was not audible; is limited to 74 decibels. at this level no on the five down should be heard in the adjacent businesses.
in the community-based on the parents teaching us to be involved in the community. i have seen quite a number of businesses across the street at the address in question, 1865 post street. when i noticed that pa'ina was being built i took a special interest and i continued to observe and watch. i was impressed. i found out that jim knew my mother and father and worked at a plumbing store, and i used to go there as a little girl to get my nuts and bolts and always had long conversations with jim. that gave inspiration to go in. i met everybody. i was totally impressed to see that it was gutted out from post to gary street, unbelievable. the work done in design and displays not to mention the lighting, structure, set up, stage entrance to the front door, , harmony that is there. menu, restaurant, the food, entertainment everything impressed me. my brother is a jazz musician that has played all over san francisco and all over filmore. i asked how can i help. i gathered community bands from the farmers market; i asked if i could bring the bands in, i did a series of jazz sessions; the music wa
anywhere from $2000 to $2500. conditional use takes more time and is more expensive. several departments must weigh in. the planning department, department of hotels, building, electrical, fire, police, noise inspection plus a 30 day posted notice, the application that comes in advance to the public hearing at city hall. and outreach to the neighbors of any particular venue. before i focus on the planning part i will focus on the other departments going back to the health and safety purpose of the whole process. who want to be safe, the food, fire hazards, occupancy. all the inspections that building, electrical, fire, all are pass/fail. if there is something to have to correct they must correct it before they get a permit. to propose specific things the commission can accept or demand. the planning role starts from the very beginning. i will switch to be overhead. you have this on your desk. you don't have to look at the screen. so, this map of san francisco shows where place of entertainment permits are allowed. beiged areas are not allowed. because the map is the way does the fi
the board cuts is going to make a difference to us. probably will not be felt for a number of months and may not be felt until the next fiscal year, but those uncertainties have to be noted in terms of our estimates. >> so, ms. zamuda, i don't know if this is an appropriate question for you or to ms. howard. the threat of sequestration at the federal level, have we done some work on thinking about what that impact might be to the city? >> supervisor, we have. it's an an insignificant number. it's approximately $30 million of impact. some of that is on the general fund side, some of it is not. and i think we all will need to be watching closely to see what the federal government does. and then make some determinations about to what degree the city can afford to backfill those kinds of programs. >> okay. and to ms. zamuda's comments or earlier, those would be anticipated be felt in the next fiscal year, though, if they do happen? >> i think that's yet to be seen. you know, we know that federal agencies are already slowing down their spending and anticipation of the sequester. what that likely
